EP344: Jean Taillon - How To Grow A $100 Million Business

With the right strategy, any business, even businesses that are already successful and running themselves can be pushed to grow. It takes a lot of hard work and a fresh perspective on the value of the product and where and how it can reach more people. During his time as president and CEO of G4S Canada, today’s guest changed the thinking of the company resulting in a 63% growth rate over 6 years.

Jean Taillon already knew in his teens that he wanted to run a company and he found success in the tech industry working for Nortel in his early twenties. By his late twenties he was developing products to compete with telecommunications giant, Bell, and was later hired by Bell to find solutions for their under served market. Jean is currently the Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President of Trispec Communications Inc.

  • You’ve got to be able to step back and see the bigger picture of your business.

  • Learn how to get your brand out there, how to get recognized and how to get people to know who you are.

  • Differentiate yourself and connect with like-minded people. Don’t do it alone. Sell to people, sell with people and sell through people. Find partners who compliment your product and vice versa.
