EP352: Riaz Aziz - From Cancer Patient To Cancer Recovery Coach
Often what develops a person’s expertise is their own life experience. And with the right mindset, that experience becomes thought leadership. Riaz Aziz survived stage three lymphoma and in the process, he learned a lot about the many challenges people face during and after cancer treatment. Gradually, his experiences and mindset positioned him to take the lead in helping other patients and their families navigate the cancer treatment process. Opportunities to help people started coming his way. His experience and his ability to relate to people on a personal level naturally made him a specialist in cancer rehabilitation. His business message is one that many people recognize and need.
One of the programs that Riaz is developing is called Road To Survivorship, supporting people in their cancer recovery without the fear of cancer coming back.
Expert action steps:
Respond, don’t react. When you’re making decisions, make them based on information, not on emotion. Specifically, fear.
Risk-benefit ratio. Calculate whether any risks you might take are worth the outcome. If what you’re doing doesn’t align with your purpose, don’t do it.
Self-regulation. Recognize when you have the best time and ability to make decisions.
