EP402: Bryan Gillette - How Ultradistance Biking and High Performance Are Co-Related
“How far can you push your mind and body? You can probably push it farther than you can think.”
When faced with some of the bigger decisions in life, ask yourself, “In 20 years, when I look back, will I regret not doing this?” If the answer is yes, then you have your decision. This is advice from today’s guest, Bryan Gillette. He’s a man who left a successful career as a Human Resources executive to start his own coaching business and never looked back. He also cycled across the United States, and later, 205 miles (329 Kilometres) around Lake Tahoe. Bryan helps people break through their boundaries and think bigger. Bryan believes it’s our thoughts that determine our boundaries and that if you can find what you love and what you’re good at, you will find success.
Expert action steps:
Ask yourself, “will I regret doing this in 20 or 30 years down the road?”
Identity a few things you want to do before you leave the planet. Choose one of them and write down one thing you can do in the next 72 hours that will move you forward. Repeat for your next goal.
Bryan has written Epic Performance: Lessons from 100 Executives & Endurance Athletes on Reaching Your Peak. The book provides a framework for simplifying the steps to take toward your biggest dreams and goals.
